World Green Building Council Recognizes an AUROS Group Project

AUROS Group and East Liberty Presbyterian Church (ELPC) are proud to announce that The World Green Building Council (WGBC) added East Liberty Presbyterian Church (ELPC) to its Online Case Study Library. The WGBC library exists to display the world's most cutting edge examples of sustainable building. To date, there are less than 85 projects in the United States included in this prestigious collection of sustainable projects.

According to Matthew Black, WGBC Project Officer, "Each case study in the library demonstrates a building that has enhanced performance in relation to health benefits and/or zero operational carbon."

As the first cathedral in the world to be RESET Air Certified, ELPC met a rigorous indoor air quality standard for temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide (CO2), particulate matter 2.5 (PM2.5) and total volatile organic compounds (TVOC). To maintain certification, ELPC continuously monitors and transparently publishes indoor air quality results for members and guests of the church from all over the world.

Beth Eckenrode, AUROS Group Co-founder added, "By combining Passive House Building Science and RESET Air Certification, ELPC was able to make the proper investments in the building envelope to reduce energy consumption and meet the world's most rigorous indoor air quality standard. Even a stone cathedral built in 1935 can reduce energy consumption and achieve healthy indoor air quality, ensuring everyone lives, works, learns, worships and plays in an environment that supports health and performance."
