Fifth & Dinwiddie East Receives Fitwel Certification

We are delighted to share that the new Fifth & Dinwiddie East building received Fitwel Certification this week. For the commercial and retail tenants of this gorgeous co-working, retail and general office building in Pittsburgh's EcoInnovation District, Fitwel Certification means the developer and design team paid special attention to how the building could positively benefit occupants' health and well-being. From utilizing strategies to provide the healthiest indoor air quality to providing opportunities to increase physical activity, the Fitwel standard uses public health research to ensure occupants' health and well-being are properly prioritized.

Fifth & Dinwiddie East's Fitwel Certification is the second such certification in Pittsburgh behind Phipps Conservatory's Center for Sustainable Landscapes.

But, developer, Derrick Tillman isn't stopping at Fitwel Certification. Derrick has challenged the design team consisting of GBBN, AUROS Group, Newcomb & Boyd, evolveEA and MBI to also deliver Passive House Certification and RESET Air Certification. "I believe well designed and constructed buildings can deliver excellence in occupant health and well-being without requiring a premium in the cost of construction. Our team, with the addition of Waller Construction, is executing my values and the Fitwel Certification is the first of many external recognitions to demonstrate that we are delivering."

For information on how to deliver these kinds of results for your building or for more information on how to call Fifth & Dinwiddie East home for your organization, email beth.eckenrode@aurosgroup.com.
